Any history buffs out there? Churchill

When the teachers are in the room talking about the 'yanks', one says something like, 'I'll never forgive them for not attending Churchill's funeral ... they didn't even send the VP'

I know churchill was out of office when he died in the 60's but I would think his funeral should have been well represented by the US ... Does anyone know who led the US delegation? If it wasn't Johnson or Humphry, why not?

Obama, returned the bust of Churchill that was originally loaned to Bush in 2001. This was a slap in the face to the British as they had offered Obama a 4 year extension of the loan. It was also an embarrassment to many Americans.

"A White House spokesperson says the Churchill bust was removed before Obama's inauguration as part of the usual changeover operations, adding that every president puts his own stamp on the Oval Office."---Newsweek, 2/20/09

"Then the Administration lied about it to pretend none of the above actually happens hoping that most "journalists" would follow the NY Times and not bother to check any facts before simply reporting their lies verbatim.

Unfortunately too many knew the trust; and some reporters weren't willing to openly publish a lie to try to cover for another Presidential issue... so the truth got out.

And now the NY Times had to get out behind the truth to claim it wasn't their fault they didn't bother to do any research while publishing the White House Press Release without any validation.

Because researching facts instead of quoting partisan press releases verbatim is too much work for NY Times "journalists" to consider doing...

Maybe you didn't realize; it is the White House Administration's JOB to lie to you to make President Obama look better..."

It's OUR job to pay enough attention to the fact and do enough research to know when we're being lied to by the WH and the praetorian media. (a 24/7 undertaking)

"Why would you think otherwise?"
