It Was a Paycheck


Another film that shows what's possible when a group of professionals have the best intentions . . . Gig Young and Flora Robson had already had lengthy careers - Lynley had been around since the late 1950s, and Reed was still lurking ominously along - two of his best roles lay just around the corner (Bill Sykes in OLIVER! and Gerald in WOMEN IN LOVE) - Three years later Young would win an Oscar for THEY SHOOT HORSES, DON'T THEY? but his career would never really take off again, and his end was a tragic one.
