Not All Bad...

This movie conflicts me !

I find it entertaining on diff.levels,but i can't stand Annette Day !

Some of the songs aren't bad at'all-but Old MacDonald makes me retch !

John Williams is smooth...Elvis' sidekick is a hoot and the chic lady that tails El is a hotie !

-and those Wiere Bros. are just plain weird !

All in all,a very contrived and formulaic flic-but i dig it nonetheless !

ps Leon Askin is priceless(as usual)!

I had my own Elvis movie weekend and this was one of his films that I'd never seen. I don't think it's one I'd watch again.

I didn't like Annette Day either, and her under 18 angle was strange.

The songs were okay. I feel like I missed a few scenes because everyone figured things out in a flash, no explanations necessary.

Elvis' wardrobe wasn't as slick as usual and that hideous blue overcoat was ugly.

Why ain't you at the garden party you heathen?

The Movie Double Trouble is ok.. the one i think is the worst of all ELVIS films is HARUM SCARUM ...boring , a boring story line.and bad script..

I'm with you on Harum Scarum. That movie is tedious and almost impossible to sit through. Regardless of the fact that Elvis is always fun and entertaining in his movies, one view of Harum Scarum was more than enough. Double Trouble looks like Citizen Kane in comparison :-) I do like Double Trouble for the most part and don't seem to have the same negative feelings about Day as others do. I thought she did just fine. Nothing special but not horrible either. Average is a great way to describe this whole film.

Have'ta agree Harum Scarum is sooo bad-and I wish it weren't;

I agree. Actually I wasn't expecting much when I saw this movie, but it was surprisingly good. And you're absolutely right about Leon Askin. As an old Hogan's Heroes fan I was able to write to both Leon Askin (Gen. Burkhalter) and Larry Hovis (Sgt. Carter) before their deaths. Both actors were very nice and sent handwritten letters and autographed photos. Mr. Askin was living in Austria at the time. In the scene where they were all playing cards in the police station I almost expected Leon Askin's character to scream out "Kliiiiiiiink!!!" at the three bumbling cops...LOL.

I liked it as well but it could've been better:

-I also cringed at thet ol' mcdonald song
-elvis needed to lose weight , better clothes, and his hair is too short for a combed back look, it kept falling out of place. I imagine his hair was more similar to his 1968 look and should've just kept it down.
- the girl isnt really on par with Elvis, she's a 5/10 to elvis' 10/10
- the 3 stooges were annoying and the film was too slapstick
