shareI assumed it was the lady that Chuka knew from his past. She got hit with an arrow early on. He would have buried her. The only people left are Chuka and the lady's niece, who was allowed to live before the chief left the ruined fort.
I can't see it happening any other way, can you?
I just saw the movie and you do see the Indian Chief at the end of the movie at the Fort, with the Major investigating what happened. I think there is no doubt that the niece survived, and the probability is that Chuka did as well,( I do think the Indian patched him up ( especially because the Indian knew that Chuka not only fed children earlier, but could have shot him).
shareHanu did not patch up Chuka. Hanu saw Chuka put his pistol to Helena's head and then turned and went out of the fort, leaving them alive.
Chuka obviously didn't die in the fort or stay there to welcome the soldiers days later, but there is no way to guess how many hours or decades Chuka lived after leaving the fort with Helena.
