HATE Fonda in this movie!!!

did i understand right..she wants a divorce bc they have nothing in common, she kicks him out, and ignores his simple questions, like "is there beer in the house". why is she so immature? why doesnt she answer him? its not like he did anything to her! its not like he cheated on her! she just decides she wants a divorce and starts being a total bitch for absolutely no reason. why wouldnt he want to divorce her!

Like most 'fun', 'spontaneous' women she has serious emotional problems. She's not a bitch, she's troubled. Someone like that is high maintenance, and he clearly rushed into marriage not understanding this.

I'd reference Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind for comparison. It's easy to get swept up in romance with a fantasy girl but when you realize she never leaves the fantasy it can be too much to bear.

I liked the film at first and thought Corie was entertaining with her bubbly personality but then...I began to find her annoying and thought perhaps Paul had let his hormones rather than his brain choose a wife. There's no way I could live with a person like Corie. She's just too much. And she was completely ridiculous in the scene when she was arguing with Paul for basically being too boring for her and demanding a divorce. He should have kept walking with his shoes tied firmly to his feet until he found a woman with more sense than that.

JF is so bloody annoying in this one. I couldn't watch it without my blood pressure rising every time she threw a tantrum or said something stupid, which was constantly.
