The Chinese mumbo-jumbo seance
... to me that was the absolute funniest scene in the movie ... seriously ... wtf?

shareThe scene would've been more sophisticated if they had used phrases from real dialects of Chinese. The "Chinese" in the film is just gibberish. Then again, the humor in Wild World of Batwoman is intended to be campy and dopey. Here's some real Chinese phrases:
"Yi ge li bai you chi tian."
Mandarin Chinese: A week has seven days.
"Junggwokyahn mhhaih beng fu."
Cantonese: Chinese people are not weak.
"Joi gai paktong."
Cantonese: Best partners.
"Xie xie."
Mandarin Chinese: Thank you.

The whole movie would have been more sophisticated if the Batgirls (supposedly well-trained crimefighters) had known how to fight or if super-agent Batwoman had been able to find her way back to the bad guy fortress she had just escaped from a few hours ago. I mean, can you imagine James Bond or Nikita complaining that it was dark and there were no "landmarks" to help them find it again.
When it comes to the Chinese scene, yes it should have been real Chinese. There are a couple of ways to have made it cool. (A) She records it or memorizes it phonetically and seeks out someone who can translate. (B) One of the Batgirls is Chinese and understands it, but the message is still cryptic and takes intelligence to interpret properly.
If the Chinese dialogue serves no reasonable purpose at least have it be a bunch of insults. :) share

Hahaha.. I'm pretty sure I thought the same thing, but when I figured out it was in the movie I was ROLLING.. Hands down the most hilarious scene in the movie.
