Not THE worst ever

But I think it's the third worst, right behind Monster-A-Go-Go and Birdemic. At least Manos had some sort of a coherent plot and a decent ending unlike M-A-G-G, and the acting, sound, and direction wasn't nearly as atrocious as Birdemic.

But it does deserve its spot in the bottom 100 and ranking as one of the worst movies ever.

Just my 2 cents.

Apparently, Gunday is worse than all of those.

I haven't watched that movie yet (though I actually kind of want to just to see how bad it really is), but I DID watch this one and I agree Manos deserves its spot. In fact, I think where it is on the Bottom 100 is too generous at #10.

You all have no idea.

The worst movie ever made in human mistory... is called "Ich piss auf dein Kadaver".

It's the worst *beep* movie in every aspect. No movie can ever come close to it.

It's a german movie from 1999, having a budget of about 100€. It's the worst piece of trash I have ever seen.

I know it's not a "good" movie by any stretch of the imagination. But it's so bizarre and interesting that you still can't hate it. It does drag on a lot which isn't good for a movie that's only an hour and 9 minutes long, but has enough fun/fascinating moments to make it worthwhile.

The thing about this movie is that it's not only bad, It's also extremely boring. And the bad scenes aren't funny bad, just plain bad.

You know I love to watch a bad movie as much as the next guy, but this one. Ugh.

Also keep THIS in mind. There were movies so bad they DIDN'T put them MST3K.

I've seen some bad movies, this was certainly one of them. You're right, Birdemic was absolutely horrible! It was so bad, I loved it! lol Everything was bad about it. The acting, the sound, the cinematography, and don't forget the acting! lol I hated it so much I bought the dvd.

No winner of any "worst ever"-poll or such will ever actually be the literal worst of its kind. For it to win, it will need to have some kind of (involuntary) entertainment value. So it is with this, or any other of these kind of titles.

What these lists actually present, are peoples "favorite ridiculous movies", and that's what they should be called. The actual worst movies ever, the ones that most viewers would agree is the poorest completed attempt at making a movie, is probably something most have never heard of, or would ever actually stomach or bother to watch all the way through.

You're usually going to find as winners something that has had some kind of wide exposure or that contains one or more semi-famous name, and then we're really talking about the most embarrassing/silly/comical production as it relates to peoples expectations from what/who is presenting them.

IMDb-boards would be less confusing if people would mark their signatures clearly.

Honestly, the premise for the movie is great. If it hadn't been placed in the hands of an incompetent writer/director, it could make a very decent horror film.

There's at least one film I've seen I'd say is without a doubt worse than Manos. It's called Dracula Prisoner of Frankenstein, directed by Jesus Franco. At least Manos has a coherent story line, a beginning and a middle and a "the end?". This film, on the other hand, seemed to be cobbled together outtakes from a Dracula film and a Frankenstein film, with the Wolf man making an appearance at the end for no apparent reason. The cameraman was probably a drunk who had just discovered the zoom function.

This video sums up the movie pretty well, and it's just about as coherent:

There are so many reasons to pick one movie or another as the worst ever.

For me, I still pick MANOS as the worst ever because it is still the only movie that was physically painful for me to watch. I insisted on seeing it through, and my whole body ached in protest. I know this may sound like your garden-variety hyperbole, but I assure you it is the only movie I can make this claim.

Plenty of bad flicks have made my head hurt, but not the body.

If you buy a ticket for a remake, you are the problem, not Hollywood.
