What happened to this?

MGM, of all people, released the companion film JESSE JAMES MEETS FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER on their own home video label, and I've seen several companies offering a DVD of the Frankenstein film. Yet the Dracula entry seems to have been lost in the shuffle, even though many consider it to be the better of the two. (For what that's worth.)

agreed.
i bought a vhs copy off of amazon.have not seen it in years but do remembering it being goofy fun.

It's going to be shown on TCM with "Jesse James..." at 2am on January 27. I heard the prints are in great shape too.

Somebody should start a religion based on both these masterworks.

Nothing exists more beautifully than nothing.

Yeah, the print for this movie looked GREAT, much better than the cheesyflicks DVD transfer, which looks horrible. I meant to record this but forgot to set the friggin' timer on the DVD recorder... and I'm sad, since who knows when they'll play it again. Did anyone else record this?

reply

I recorded it...but on VHS tape

reply

I recorded the double feature on vhs sp speed on a three hour tape. I'm transferring it as we speak to dvd. Great way to chill on President's Day! And the picture quality looks AWESOME.

This movie should have been the start of a franchise where Billy the Kid would take on all the Universal classic monsters
