Submarine Seaview Control Room in Opening Scene!

Anyone who's seen "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" would realize that the opening scene aboard a non-descript submarine is the control room set of submarine Seaview from the movie and TV series of the same name (also filmed at 20th Century-Fox, incidentaly).

BTW, in another scene from "Flint" Coburn kills one of the baddies by kicking him into a disintegration machine. The machine is a re-dressed prop of the reactor unit from the sub on "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea".

The Trilight Zone was shot at MGM and so they often used parts of the ship from
Forbidden Planet, the uniforms were used in "The Time Machine"
On one Ep of TTZ they used the electric car from FP.

In other words studios do this all the time

Yes, I picked up on the Seaview.

I haven't seen Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea in many many years, so I missed the similarity. Thanks for pointing it out. Interesting stuff.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

I noticed the use of the Seaview's sets too. Did you catch the waterproof doors? (bulkhead hatches)

"Our Man Flint" - the movie that gave the great (prop and set) reuser Irwin Allen a run for his money:

"disintegration machine"..."re-dressed prop of the reactor unit"

Which was mounted on top of 'The Purification Arch' prop that was used in the "Lost in Space" tv series episodes "The Dream Monster" s02e14, "The Colonist" s02e25, and "Trip Through the Robot" s02e26.

By the way they also reused the movie "Fantastic Voyage" (1966) headquarters sets - the "electro fragmentizer" was in the operating theatre and the central hall where the three scientists ran Galaxy was the location where the "Proteus" sub was miniaturized. In addition it was also the Z.O.W.I.E. computer room.

Can anyone tell me why the concrete floor around the electro fragmentizer has been cut away and replaced with sand?
