Ruined by Hollywood?

I saw this film for the first time a couple of days ago. I was rather enjoying it until George Peppard suddenly appeared. He really seemed the fish out of water. Not only because all the other actors spoke British English, but because he presented himself not as an actor, but as a movie star. Sophia Loren also seemed out of place. Perhaps a bit less so than Peppard, but not by much.

It could have been a rather good film, perhaps not a blockbuster, but something enjoyable and believable.

It's too bad when something good gets ruined by stupid commercial decisions.

Peppard was fine in the role, and did it as well as anyone could have. Loren was good, too. Her role just seems odd because as a big star she would normally be expected to be in the movie longer. "Operation Crossbow" was an entertaining movie, quite enjoyable and believable.
