Not enough action

This WWII Brit flick is about a secret mission that sends agents disguised as engineers into a Nazi rocket factory. Although the plot has lots of holes, the mission is simple enough. They must help sabotage the rockets in the factory. Unfortunately, this movie lacks big name actors, but more importantly, lacks action. There is only one fight, which takes place at the very end. Of course, not all action consists of battles. There is some suspense throughout the movie, but I couldn’t help but feel that this film could have been much much better. 2 out of 5 action rating

The film is actually trying to tell the whole story of the development of the `V` weapons in WWII and is not just a simple secret mission plot.
I actually think that it spent a bit too much time on the heavily fictionalised espionage story which was pretty much standard Hollywood exaggeration and should perhaps have concentrated more on depicting real events.
Surely they could have done something with the Polish V-1 story though that had been done in another film `Battle For the V-1` some years earlier.

What action there is is incredibly dated. Just watching it on tv here in the UK and it's laughable. The crack German troops just endlessly run into the open and proceed to freeze so Peppard can mow them down with his machine gun. Hilarious!

Trevor Howard, John Mills, Richard Todd, Sopia Loren, George Peppard

What bigger names do you want?

I agree with you, this was typical Hollywood fluff.

Tom Cruise, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Diane Kruger, and Nicolas Cage, who else?? Even if they're just embryos, I demand superstars in all my movies!

There was just the right amount of action, with the German test pilots flying the V-1, and then the explosive climax. The rest of the movie was a combination of interesting planning and suspense.
