Perhaps a poor man's Hitch?

I didn't hate this film or anything; I thought it was okay. Nothing special, but I think Bankhead did great! I almost didn't even recognise Sutherland.

Anyway, did anyone catch the Hitchcockesque moments (i.e. colours/crazy knife-wielding "lady," etc.?)

Excuse me...is that Sex Panther you're wearing?

reply

Yes, "Sardony" was right! I was just waiting for the wig to fall off in that second "Hitchcock-like scene."

Poor Harry deteriorating in the basement sink with the lamp swinging back and forth...

reply

That was the most Psycho-like moment from the film. I have a feeling that the swinging lamp scenario was done before 'Psycho' but Hitchcock was the one who popularized this horror element.

Richard Matheson provides a good script. But, of course, it's a Hammer film, which means it's purposefully silly and schlocky! So, whatever good thriller it could have been gets lost.

Yes, I actually enjoy these types of stories a lot.

But, of course, it's a Hammer film
Agreed, and I do find them rather fun.

Also, I cannot believe it's been seven years since I've watched this. I think a re-watch might be in order.

Mr. Rusk...you're not wearing your tie!
