It is a fair movie but not a great one. Arch Hall's The Sadist was much better. It is not too accurate in the history department. It takes place in 1976 the year Wild Bill Hickok died but at that time Billy the Kid was not too well known and could only have been 16 at the time. Plus Billy the Kid wasn't well known till after his death when writers began to write about him.
shareI believe you meant 1876. It is interesting that hardly any movies have used Boone May, one of the most colorful and deadly gunfighters in the Deadwood area in the 1870's. This movie looks like a piece of crap, though.
shareI didn't think is was too bad. It popped up here in Blighty yesterday on a TV station which shows documentaries about food and lifestyle. Bizarre! The print was truly appalling but it was nice to see the movie. I think Arch Hall Jr looks a bit like Michael J Pollard and Liz Renay is very glamorous, which was enough to keep me interested.
shareI like Liz Renay's character, Poker Kate. In one shot showing her right profile when she's laughing, she looks a lot like Marilyn Monroe.
