Only in Lost in Space. .....
Do the Aliens speak English LOL.
shareWould you prefer reading translations like in Star Wars, who like Star Trek also had many human like aliens and otherwise ie-Gorns or whatever Greedo was who Han shot first, speak perfect English, as when Jabba speaks in Huttesse.
I wouldn't.
Not all episodes did this some cases The Robot Translates the ep where Will gets Super Intelligent the Alien DOE NOT speak English

The Space Trader had a very unique way of quickly learning the language of the Robinson ' s. I always thought that little gimmick was a rather creative way of getting past the language barrier.
sharewasn't that the hat gimmick used in the "Wish Upon A Star" episode?
"Live long and prosper"
Same hat, but different gimmick. It granted wishes in Wish Upon a Star, and instantly granted the wearer the ability to speak a language in The Space Trader.
sharethanks for clearing that up, blcmitchell 🆗
"Live long and prosper"
No worries. They just happen to be two of my favorite 1st Season episodes.
There once was a lengthy discussion here that listed just about every prop that got re-used throughout the series until IMDB deleted it. It was quite a bit of fun.
....previously unseen vehicles (like the space pod) and spaces (like the power core) appear when necessary for the story line.
This happens on other shows too!
And every alien has, of course, heard of Earth (and of course, it's known as "EARTH" universally). And most seem to have a rather negative opinion of Earth ("ah yes, a minor planetoid, still in a state of barbaric evolution"). And quite a few of the aliens have a supreme goal of taking over Earth and controlling it.

Very true. How many episodes were devoted to the one of the Robinsons saving Earth? I can't think of any specifics right now but there were quite a few.
I'm thinking The Deadly Games of Gamma Six was such an example.
shareBecause of the audience such matters were of little consequence.
shareAlso Star Trek.
