Fave Hogan's Heroes Honeys

HH featured a bevy of babes who weren't just beautiful but also sophisticated including Marj Dusay, Antoinette Bower, and Arlene Martel. Apart from Helga/Hilda, who would you have wanted to spend the war in hiding with?

Victoria Carroll!

Very attractive lady...I've seen her name in several credits playing different characters.

My favorite is one of a pair of blondes who help American flyers escape but were actually working for the Gestapo. Don't remember her name but she died young.

reply

I don't recall the "helping flyers escape" angle, but was that the episode where the blondes are both working as serving girls at the local beer hall? Of course, at the end, Hogan manages to denounce them as traitors to the Gestapo & they are hauled off. If that's the one you're talking about, I remember one of the actresses more distinctly than the other, but not sure if she was the one who died young.

reply

That sounds like the same episode. Hogan had to uncover the broken link in the escape chain. I remember one of the gals shedding crocodile tears over "a nice young flyer" being captured.

I'll have to look up her name.

Susanne Cramer, who reminded me of Tuesday Weld or Elke Sommer, died young in 1969.

That ep, "The Flame Grows Higher" (Season 1) aired on MeTV tonight. Yes, Susanne Cramer was the German-born actress who died so young. According to IMDB she was married for about two years to character actor Kevin Hagen. There was also a mention of medical malpractice being responsible for her death at a Hollywood-area clinic. The actress who played the other agent, Hannie Landman (was she German as well?) doesn't have much of a resume. I personally found her the more sensual of the two, although Kramer had more "traditionally" attractive features.

reply

Yes, I saw that episode as well. Hogan's close-up liplock on Cramer was one of the steamiest in the series. I imagine Crane demanded much rehearsal. Cramer's barmaid partner didn't make much of an impression on me either way.

Nita Talbot... Hands down the hottest one

I am currently working my way through the DVDs, and am amazed at the gorgeous ladies that appear (albeit too briefly) in the show.

Last night, I watched the episode "It Takes a Thief....Sometimes" from series I, and was delighted to see the beautiful Claudine Longet as a member of the French Underground.

(As usual, lucky old Hogan gets to have a smooch and a cuddle with her.....)

Aaaah, the tribulations of POW camp life!!!

The Opener of the Way is waiting....

So far I have to go with Helga. I think she only appears in the first season but she is gorgeous and even appears in a bathing suit in one episode. I am about to start season two.

After just finishing up season 2, I have four favorites. I like both actresses who play Helga and Hilda, I don't know which one is which. I know that the actress in season 2 married Bob Crane and the dvd includes their wedding videos and some other features with her. One thing is clear. They had a hard time keeping their hands off each other, they were so often kissing.
Outside of those two, there are two others that stand out. You mentioned the absolutely gorgeous Arlene Martel, who I was astonished to find out played T'Pring in Star Trek's Amok Time.
I would also include Ruta Lee, who played a French scientist.
Of course, I think all of them end up making out with Hogan.
Looking forward to starting season 3 this week.
