Scary classic film from the 1960's

I watched a film in the 1960's that had witches in it and it scared me sh******.
Considering i was a child and shouldn't have been watching it. I think myself and my older brother were being minded by a child minder when my parents were out.
The thing is for years i've never been able to locate this film what with the advent of the internet i was still struggling.
Then i was introduced to IMDB. I eventually found this film after trying for ages.
What was interesting is from a very young age i had still remembered many, many scenes in the film, which is amazing if you think it was over 40 years ago that i saw the film and had never seen it again.
I have always been scared of witches and i think this film is the reason.
You can't beat genuine scary films like this, ok. its probably easy to watch now and to be honest the youth of today will pass it by in an instant, no CGI, no big names etc. (They won't know who Lon Chaney Jnr is) ,but spooky settings, atmosphere, old England, witches and old, old tales are things that are really scary.

Hi, yes just like myself when i was younger, the old horror films like this one are still creepy today. I love the Hammer Horror films that i was brought up on.Vincent Price was my favourite overall, a fine straight actor, but in his horror movies his voice was unequalled. He was a great personality off the screen also. Lon Chaney was great also and took after his father who was a silent movie actor. I think the CGI movies today don't really frighten people, i think films like "the woman in black" and "the others" are much better as they are creepy ghost stories and have much better atmosphere. Keep on watching!!Cheers.

I agree, just watched it last night at around 2am (good time for watching horror/spooky films) and Vanessa Whitlock was very chilling. Great film.
