Who Says Filmed Plays Don't Work?

They'd never make a film like this these days: it just about all takes place in one house, and depends on characterisation rather than flashy editing. But if they had thought that back in 1963 we wouldn't have a record of three great performances by three actors now alas all dead.

Well Polanski did make such a film, Carnage, in 2011. But indeed few of this kind are entirely successful - the said Carnage sure wasn`t.

William Friedkin's "Bug" (2006; based on a Tracy Letts play) is almost all in one location and is very effective.
