Just An Observation

In today's episode, "Four-Leaf Clover", with George Gobel playing the well-meaning yet ignorant schoolteacher, there was a scene that made me laugh.
Mr. Clover has just told the two Shawnee that the fort is low on powder, expecting them to offer to bring some back, everyone has gone within the walls and Chief Saugus is walking toward the fort to talk with Daniel.

The observation is this: As Frank DeKova approached the fort, he was clad in tailored buckskin trousers, light-colored shoes, and a tailored, perfectly-fitting fringed jacket.

He looked like he was going to the mall.

Even the "Mohawk" hairstyle would fit in with today's so-called "style" choices! There was nothing at all about his appearance that would make people notice him, except for the heavy, beaded necklace around his neck.

I just thought it was funny.

What was funny was George Gobel's hairstyle, which was in fashion only in the late 1950s to mid 1960s, and probably came in specifically after electric razors were invented. Prove me wrong.
