The least attractive girl.

So far I've only seen the colored episodes on 'MeTV' so, I'm going by the girls on the those episodes. But, 'Betty Jo' played by Linda Henning was the least prettiest of the 3 girls, in fact in my opinion she was not pretty at all. And, I think the reason why she had the meatiest role is because, Henning was the daughter of the show's producer, Paul Henning. Lori Saunders who played 'Bobbie Jo' was girl next door cute, and Meredith Macrae, 'Billie Jo' was the prettiest.

If you get more than a few responses, crinrgbrght, I believe you will get nearly 30% of responders favoring each of the three girls. I do think they were all rather pretty. I never had a real favorite, I guess because when I first watched the show they were all so much older than me that it wasn't something that concerned me.

I do recall all three of the Bradley sisters being featured about equally--at least until Betty Jo got married to Steve. In real life, these two wound up married. The series found lots of new plots about their lives as a married couple, finding a home, having a baby, etc. So it was natural that she might have gotten featured a bit more in later years. But I think the other two still got their share of air time.

It depended on the season. IMO the third Billie Jo ( Meredith MacRae) was the least pretty of the three Billie Jo's. Jeanine Reilly and Gunilla Hutton were really pretty I thought. Both Bobby Jo's were really pretty and Betty Jo, she had her moments, but other eps she didn't look as good. I think she was more cute than pretty. So all in all I'd say the third Billie Jo and Betty Jo were the least attractive.

I think Linda Henning was a beautiful girl. She had a pretty-shaped face, and a nice figure.

Her hairdo, which looked like it should be back in the 20s/30s was not becoming to her.

They overdid the eye makeup on all of them, even Kate, but that's the way we wore eye makeup back then.

I think Meredith Macrae was the least prettiest of the 3.She had funny teeth and an unattractive overbite. Also those false eyelashes were overdone at times.I wouldn't even call her pretty. She was average looking at best.Lori Saunders was the prettiest and her beauty was outstanding especially her eyes and smile.Linda Henning was second best.

Quick comment ppitta, relating to your false eyelashes comment.

Last weekend at a restaurant I happened to notice a young woman--maybe about 20, sitting at a table. I didn't really notice anything else about her except her eyelashes. These obviously fake ones must have been no less than three-quarters of an inch long. They looked comical to me.

Note that I am doing my best to report the actual measurement, as estimated, without the slightest exaggeration. When they're that long, no stretching is necessary.

I think that Pat Woodell's Bobbie Jo was the least attractive of all the girls. Also, I found her portrayal of Bobbie Jo to be so dull. Thank goodness Lori Saunders came along as the most beautiful and funniest of all the girls.

reply

I thought Pat was drop dead gorgeous - great face and great figure. But agree that her Bobbie Jo was pretty dull. You can't do much with the bookworm character that she was written as.

I also didn't find Meredith MacRae to be particularly beautiful. She got a lot of attention because of her long blonde hair, but if you took that away, she was average looking at best.

reply

I agree. Lori Saunders is the stand-out for me. She is probably the main reason I still watch it (and Homer Bedloe is always great).

reply

I agree that Lori Saunders was the prettiest and Linda Henning was next - but Linda Henning was the one on whom I had a crush.

I have never liked Meredith MacRae and number one with a bullet is her total lack of personality, and I don't find her at all beautiful.

I also hated how she appeared more 'mod' than anyone else. Just totally didn't fit the setup. She just seemed completely out of place.

But yea, physical appearance alone, she's number six on least attractive.

I'd have to go with Pat Woodell for number five unattractiveness, but I haven't watched a lot of her episodes.

I know she wore a pale one piece swimsuit in one early episode and in black-and-white, she looks completely naked. I could just imagine people doing a double take when they see her, so she has that going for her. Haha!

Between Riley and Hutton, I'll lean toward Hutton. She seemed more standout.

Linda Kaye would definitely be number four unattractive, but that is really because the remaining three (Hutton, Saunders and Riley) are undeniably beautiful.

Most beautiful

1. Lori Saunders (super gorgeous and easily the best comedienne of the sextette).
2. Meredith Macrae (really attractive but she had a very cool personality though bordering on cold so I think that's really why some "fans" don't like her rather than her looks or acting which is pretty good)
3. Gunilla Hutton (very pretty although I don't like her hairstyle on PJ which looks like something a little girl would wear, in the 1970's though she was really gorgeous on Hee Haw in more glamorous hairstyles and a cut rather like Meredith's).
4. Jeannine Riley (easily the "raciest" of the girls but not quite as pretty as Meredith or Gunilla although she was in her post-PJ roles when like Gunilla she wore a sexier hairstyle)
5. Linda Kaye ("cute" in a June Allyson way but certainly not sexy or beautiful)
6. Pat Woodell (boring actress and just average looks)

reply

When Hutton, Saunders, and Kaye were doing promos (it was the three girls in the water tower) for "Petticoat Junction", I noticed how much Kaye looked like Bea Beneredet, she easily could pass for her own daughter.

reply

I didn't fine Jeannie Riley attractive in the least.

Isn't that dumb?-Micky Dolenz

reply

Yeah, Linda Henning appears to be a case like Tori Spelling. And Mike Minor seemed like a Dean McDermott, only he didn't last as long.
