R.T.S. Video has "House of Women" listed in its July 2007 catalog and they offer it in both DVD and VHS. R.T.S. Video does not have a web site but its email address is [email protected].

"House of Women," remastered, is available on DVD-R as part of the ever-expanding catalog of Warner Brothers Archive Collection films. I do not as yet have it, but I plan on getting it soon. A nice companion piece to "Caged" with great performances by Shirley Knight, Constance Ford, Barbara Nichols, Margaret Hayes, Andrew Duggan, Virginia Capers, Virginia Gregg and Jeanne Cooper.

Wow prior to her fame on Y&R, Jeanne did a few movies with social commentaries of the era, I just saw Unwed Mother from 1959. She played the director of an unwed mother's facility. A pretty good film, with surprising ending. The mother wants to keep her kid.

I really enjoyed this flick along with "Caged!" and "House of women". Great movies.

Probably the corniest womens prison movie you'll ever see, but gets progressively better as it goes along. Gotta love how almost every one of the gals in this prison is a buxom blonde with full make-up and a perfectly styled 'do. Shirley Knight's bouncy easy-curl flip easily takes the cake - she'd be the envy of every sorority girl in town, or at least Gidget.
