Is James Bond a Sociopath?

I know the one in the novels isn't as he's just a drunk who hates his job. And there also seems to be varying degrees of the character depending on which actor you watch - but primarily here in the early years (Sean Connery).

I mean he has dozens of meaninglessness flings with women, doesn't mind hitting them, kills people with absolutely no remorse, and drinks a lot. I was reading up on sociopaths for school and he seemed to fit the textbook definition

reply

Absolutely.
He's actually a sociopath both in films and in novels. Actually in novels even more so.
He always got his six.

He appears to be a fictional character from a book. You on the other hand appear to be a living, breathing idiot.

reply

Yes, he has to be a sociopath in this line of work.

"Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop."

reply

I don't think he is. He doesn't really seem to enjoy killing. In the recent films he kills on a personal level out of revenge, but because he is crazy. Take what I just wrote with a grain of salt.

reply

I meant not because he is crazy.
