A scene starring Zsa Zsa Gabor was cast, shot but not used in the final cut of this film. It may have been shown in the preview screenings but is no longer in the current release prints. Apart from a b/w 8x10 Lobby Card this scene is never mentioned in any listings for HMS Defiant. Why?. The things they do in Filmdom!

They also cut the scene with Jerry Lewis. I saw it once at a showing of movie outtakes and bloopers at college back in the '70s. He was hilarious as a zany midshipman.
