Great way to see the 60s Paris

Once you've seen the film, watch it again, and take the tour of Paris. This time, don't look at the sub-titles or the principal actors... instead, watch the 60s world of Paris come alive. Shop for hats, see what the street vendors have, what shops would you want to stop at. Marvel at the traffic, watch the pedestians, and enjoy the bus ride. By studying where Cleo lives, you're happier when you learn that she lives.

Great post! Don't forgetful the beautiful park with the observatory or the artists' studio where Dorothee models, or the wonderful cafes, especially the first where the proprietor gives Cleo and Angele their coffees on the house.

Very nicely stated.
Movement ends, intent continues;
Intent ends, spirit continues

Paris is indeed a character in this film, as are hundreds of its uncredited citizens. Virtually every car is French, apart from a couple of overlong American imports, and notice how the female cabby corrects Cléo when she confuses the cheaper ID with the posher DS. And how, in those incorrect times, men in the street look at a pretty girl!

Yes, for me this was the best part of the movie because I found the story dreadful, such as it existed at all. The pedestrians were clearly not extras, and some looked at the camera. Most people looked very serious, plain and unhappy; exactly like in old photos. It's too bad that you can't make movies like that now. It would leave such lovely records.

yeah, the movie is worth seeing of only for that

so many movies, so little time
