Who was the father

of Echo's baby?

Was she planning on blaming it on Berry Berry and making him marry her?

reply

I think it was Berry-Berry. I found it a bit odd that there wasn't even a hint that they had made love, unless one considers the physical contact that took place in the park, but I really think Berry-Berry was the father.

Still, the relationship seemed to be only a couple of weeks old, so how would she know she was pregnant? Also, her peculiar mood change at the dance hall was unexpected, as if she had been worrying about telling him, indicating that she knew she was pregnant beforehand, because their relationship at the time was ver short.

I don't know, but Berry-Berry was such a cad about it anyhow it may as well have been his.

I agree. Berry Berry was a cad. And Echo wasn't such a princess herself. Maybe she came to town pregnant and was looking for a meal ticket. Maybe if B-B hadn't come back, she would have had an affair with Clint to use him.

I agree that she was already pregnant; she told Berry that she was a virgin so she could rope him into believing that he is the father but he was shrewd enough to figure that out and called her on it.

Berry-Berry was obviously the father of the baby but if you need extra assurance, read the novel by James Leo Herlihy.

I just read the novel. It's not explicit that Berry-berry is the father, but probable.
