My dad hated Betsy.

One of my manin memories watching The Virginian as a kid was how annoyed my dad would get at Betsy - he saw her as a shrill, irritating brat. I remember in one episode she seemed to address The Virginian by name, in my dad's eyes a cardinal sin (either we misheard or she accidentally called him a name - no VCRs back then!) and my dad was enraged that she had broken the sacrosanct law!
