Excellent thriller

Taut, British B-movie crime drama. Three crooks carry out a bank robbery, locking the manager and his secretary in the vault. After a successful getaway (taking the vault keys with them) they remember it's a bank holiday weekend, and that no-one will be in to open the vault and free the two workers until Tuesday, long after the air has run out. They decide to drop the keys in a telephone box and call the police (anonymously) to let them know to release the two. Unfortunately, this goes badly wrong (I won't spoil), leaving them with plan B; they have to risk getting caught by returning to the bank with cutting gear to release the two workers before they suffocate, to avoid a murder charge!

This is supposedly one of Quentin Tarantino's favourite films. Superb performances from all, but the standouts are Derren Nesbitt as the gang leader and Colin Gordon as the bank manager. It's just 80 minutes long, but it's absolutely gripping. 8/10
