Did Sharon and Susan tell their parents about how they fought at camp?

That might have made an interesting scene itself, to explain to their parents how when Susan and Sharon had first met at camp they did not like each other at all because they had similar faces, Susan being rude and calling Sharon names and getting knocked out of her boat, Sharon and her friends getting gopher trapped and missing out on the party and Sharon cutting off Susan's dress and humiliating Susan in front of her date and everyone else and the brawl that they had where the party was ruined and how they got put into isolation with each other as punishment.

Maggie and Mitch might not have ever learned about this stuff on camera but it would have been funny to see Susan or Sharon blurt it all out in front of their parents, how they really met at camp and didnt like each other, ruined the girls party and got forced into the isolation tent, then learned the truth about each others father and mother and how Sharon showed Susan the picture of her mother and they figured it out.

And it was funny how the parents didnt get a phone call from the camp where they were told about the brawling and incidents that happened, but maybe the camp swept it under the rug so to speak, Maggie and Mitch might have been shocked to learn the truth about how the girls really met and how they never liked each other at first, then became close, might have made for some funny stories.

The Grandfather and Hecky at least might have thought that this was hilarious, they seemed down to Earth.

I don't think the camp would have told the parents back then. I think that they would only have called them if the camp administration didn't think they could handle the situation themselves, but they did.

I agree. Back then the camp was responsible and handled the problem. No need to bother the parents over a disagreement. Sadly today schools and camps are too afraid of law suits to take authority of the kids and the kids know it.
