Favourite scene/line?

My fave scene is when Brando has managed to get hold of the Derringer - then Slim Pickens runs up the stairs and has that nasty surprise! 'You ain't about to take me out with that l'il ol' popper!' (Shame on me - haven't the film to hand at the mo, but it was words to that effect!) A great film.

The Slim Pickens line that tickles me most is when he tells Rio, "I got a lotta funny things to do today, but lippin' with you ain't one of 'em."

"You think I was telling you the truth? Maybe...maybe."

Slim Pickens rules. I love it when he's tormenting Brando about being hung. He first says wants to shoot him with a shotgun, then he says it would be better to watch him turn blue. Brando sayd "I aint hung yet." And Pickens says "Yeah well you will be. You aint getting no older than tomorrow."

after brando breaks from the sonora prison and is tracking dad longworth, when ben johnson tells his compadre in the saloon, that he is about to "be killed by a fella named rio" , and his friend says that it is not him, johnson replies,
"i wouldn't want to lose me a handful of brains trying to find out."

id like to do it myself
with this
both barrels of double odd shot about waist high

want to ?
let's see you pull it Lon

alrriigghh
go ahead
make a try for it

there ain't no need for that Lon
coz all you gotta do
is just squeeze one off

go on
you're supposed to have so much guts

you're the one with the gut Lon

notice how brando says Lon
same way kirk douglas says Joe in 'build my gallows high'

same way sinise says john in 'apollo 13'

hahaha

I like the epithets people use, esp. Rio and Bob.

Scum-Suckin' Pig, Big Tub o' Guts, and of course, One-eyed Jack.

Favorite scene is probably the big confrontation between Rio and Bob in the fishing hut. When Brando kicks that chair (which I took as improv) the look on Bob's face sells the whole scene. Even his breathing shows his fear.

Saddest scene is probably the death of Modesto.
