Easily one of the 100 greatest films ever!!

Haunting, creepy, touching, profound. The Human Condition Trilogy as a whole, stands as an example of what cinema can be, what cinema can do. Every bit as profound as a great novel. Where a lot of epics and cinematic masterpieces bowl me over in a cerebral way, The Human Condition pulled rare feelings from me and I can truly say that seeing the 3 films on the big screen is a once in a lifetime experience. As much as I'd like to review the films, I dare not do it outside of a theater experience!! Definitely one of the 100 greatest films! Well casted, the characters of Kaji and Michiko are profoundly realized. I can't express the power of this movie through words... This film will be underneath my skin forever!!

you mean, easily the SINGLE GREATEST film ever made! (all three parts considered as one).

It's my favourite as well.

2015 Update: Still my favourite film.

AGREE! You should accept that it was better than an american film with full of american scent.

Why are you praising a Japanese movie by trash talking Americans?
Obsesse much?

I agree. I am always perplexed by the people who say it's exaggerated, because no matter how uniformly bleak this film may be, it certainly has it's precedents in human history. People usually use words like exaggerated when the truth hit a little too close to home.

One of the greatest films I have ever watched.

We humans possess one absolutely amazing ability: imagination. Use it...

I preferred part II but still all three films are fantastic.

Oh, indeed. The Human Condition trilogy is my #1 trilogy, and III is my favourite of the three, though the other two are nothing short of spectacular. Now I really want to watch it all again, but I don't have the time right now.

Celery! If science could find a use for it, we wouldn't have to eat it to get rid of it!
