Overall -- is the movie's message that love > money?

At the start, she's clearly drawn to money. She stares at the window of the Tiffany's store, she dresses in lavish clothes, she engages with wealthy people who don't really know her or like her (e.g. Guy calls her phony at the party, she says she doesn't know these people), she romances with Jose just for his money etc etc etc.

At the end, though, she marries a struggling writer, who doesn't have a lot of money. She puts a cheap ring on her finger, a ring that was a prize in a Cracker Jack. She goes out in the rain and messes up her hair and clothes etc etc etc.

So at the start, she is all about money. At the end, she puts love over money. Therefore, the movie's message = love > money

No. The message is that anything goes as long as you're young, hot and have fallback options up the wazoo!
