Am I the only one who thinks Pollyanna's 'stuffy' room is awesome?

I think they are trying to portray the room as "small" and stuffy, but I like it! I would love to stay in a room like that with the old books and overlooking everything with that cute little window...just my thought.

It's cute, and Pollyanna's right about the view. It might be hotter in the summer than the other rooms in the house, though, and it IS an outrage that Polly's own niece isn't given one of the nicer rooms. When I first saw the movie as a child, I didn't hate the room, and I did and do note that, even as it keeps Pollyanna far away from her aunt (Polly isn't used to "children's noises"), it also has the virtue of keeping meddlesome and strict Polly away from Pollyanna. But I also remember thinking the nicer bedrooms we pass along the way are super-cool-looking. All in all, I'd still rather be in one of those. Upstairs, Polly might have problems storing all those new clothes.

I think it is an interesting room---a fun shape---and if were cleared out a bit and freshened up it could be great!

But---I imagine it was like an OVEN in the summertime. I can't remember, did Aunt Polly's house have electricity? Because if not, that room would be baking in the summer, and without even an electric fan to move the air around, it would have been insufferable.

Likewise, it would probably be like an icebox in the winter. So, there are advantages in having a room on the lower floors in the house!

Yes, Polly's house had electricity. And yes, that attic room would be an oven in summer. Cute room, though.
