I love this movie. But it drives me crazy how Wade has no feelings for the dogs who obviously are so loyal to him and just throws them out there for that boar to kill them. I know they are hunting dogs but he knew they would be no match for that vicious wild animal. I suppose there is some obvious symbolism there.

Wade as a forty year old plus huntin man musta gone thru lottsa huntin dogs in his life by that time.
Symbolism - Wade has no emotional attachment to anyone.
shareWade is horrible to everyone and everything. He doesn’t even love his son or his wife so it’s not too shocking to see his abhorrent behavior toward his dogs.
