Thoughts on the film (slight spoiler)

This is a dark film that beguiles the viewer with its sing song soundtrack, witty dialogue and feisty heroines but it ends most depressingly. The relationships between men and women are shown in a poor light; men let down, abandon or exploit the women. The only exception being the priest who works in co-operation with them. The film shows women as either sex workers or food providers, which is interesting in itself.

Overall I liked it and thought the acting was tip top. The film had a charm and freshness to it, which is why I found the ending depressing, almost morbid.
