Spanish Civil War
Why the hell would two wealthy Americans travel to Spain in the middle of the civil war?
Why didn't they just say they were in Antibes or Cannes?
Only reason I can think of is to find hungry youngsters more easily, since it's harder to feed oneself in time of war.
But, mostly, I find this very weird too.
