Now, just to be precise, is what you're referring to (links conveniently absent) homoPHOBIA, or, perhaps, merely homoLOATHia? There's a diff.

e.g. Very few people FEAR caviar, but many peeps simply don't care for it.

Just because I find your activities loathsome, doesn't mean I fear you. Not everyone has to celebrate your aberrant behavior. Even if they did, I doubt it would make you feel better about yourself.

Is vaginaphobia and penisophobia terms that could be used for homosexuals?

Homophobia is just a word misused to continue their "victim" status.

Doesn't the suffix ...phobia actually mean "afraid of, or fear of"?

So what's the suffix for "disgusted by"?

Find that one, put it in front of homo and you'll have the word that probably applies to most instances where ...phobia is used.

Funny, now the aberrant get to set the standard for what's supposed to be the norm.

I agree. I don't like the word "homophobia". People of that ilk aren't afraid of gays; they hate them. One doesn't say say "Jew phobia" or "black phobia".

I'm gay myself, but I think the term homophobia is ridiculous. "Anti homosexual" would be a more appropriate term.

"Homophobia" is overused. I believe the term originated to describe those whose hatred of homosexuals stems from a deep fear (phobia) of their own homosexual tendencies. That makes that kind of hatred particularly virulent.

It's true. I often feel like Kramer when he doesn't want to wear the ribbon. Someday everyone will understand that there are people who are into gay rights, people who absolutely hate homosexuals and don't want them to have any rights, and then there's the vast majority who just don't care and don't want to be bothered but constantly have it thrown in their face to the point that they want to join the homosexual-hating side.

You see homophobia everywhere. You even got mad at people on the "Crusing" board because they thought the movie went too far. It did.

Sebastian was gay but I think what were shown with the kids says a lot, like pedophilia was something he wouldn't pass up.

Sebastian was disgusting and a wealthy, decadent prick.

I feel bad for you. The men in your country are allowing your women to be raped by not speaking up for fear of being called a racist.

Homophobia? Go to Syria where you will be thrown off a building for being gay, but I forgot that tolerance is more important than common sense and protecting your nation and its people.
