Aged bone marrow crawling with worms?

Aged bone marrow crawling with worms? WTF? Was that supposed to be Klingon food? How do worms grow in the far, frigid north? Is it even safe to ingest worms like those? I don't believe those are parasitical worms, though. But what kind of insect lays those worms? I still wouldn't want those worms in my digestive tract. I know from watching wildlife specials on television that some large larvae (grubs) can be eaten raw or fried for good protein. But those sure don't look like it. Like the ill-fated Christian missionary, I'll pass on that dish and risk the annoyance of my host.

Probably https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bot_Fly. Revolting, but safe to eat, especially if you chew first

I felt that was gross myself. I just saw the film. Did the Inuit(Eskimo) really eat that stuff?
