I have and it looked differnet to what I thought it would.
Behind the bookcase lots of the stairscases have class panels on the gaps so you can't climb up or down some of them. All of Anne's posters are still on the wall.
I was there about 25 years ago. It seemed very tiny and cramped. I was able to go up the staircases at the time - there were no partitions.

I never have (it is called the Secret Annex, and is an office building in Amsterdam, Holland), but I have been a big World War II buff since 1981, and have also been very intrigued by Anne Frank's story, and since the late 1980s I have always wanted to visit it for a day. I know from reading things that it has been open to the public since the 1950s, and is a huge tourist attraction. It is very unlikely I will ever go there, or to any foriegn country now, as my energy and time will be spent on other things, but I think it would still be interesting to see (if possibly somewhat disturbing), and if anyone gets the chance to go I urge them to.

I saw it as a student/tourist in 1978. A bit cramped and nondescript, above a narrow staircase. Oddly, I don't remember the posters. While I didn't find the hiding place particularly memorable, the story of course, is very memorable and tragic as well.
shareI went a few months back on a mini-cruise. It was great and I have been fascinated by her since I learned about her age four. The only let-down was people pushing and shoving because it's so popular. The toilet and stuff is sealed up but I got a vibe when I cliimbed up the stairs (which, by the way, are NOT the easiest to climb, I'll have you know.)
Overall I gave it twenty out of ten.

That has been my life long dream of visiting the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, and also the other sites of World War II.
