Problem with “The Rip Van Winkle Caper”


When they wake up 100 years later and see it is the same road unchanged, shouldn’t there have been a few Starbucks locations there?

In the middle of the desert? Why? Some things don't change much over time. There are vast expanses of barren desert in the US, which are as barren today as they were a hundred years ago. There may be roads through them, but nobody is living there, because it is undesirable real estate and there are lots of better places to live. Why would that change?
