Only Slightly O/T: United States Steel Hour Episode "The Rack" April, 1955

Literally just found something I've wanted to see for many years. The following program was referred to by Keenan Wynn in his introduction to "Patterns" part of a series called The Golden Age Of Television that aired on PBS way the hell back when I had much darker hair and more of it - 1981 or '82. Wynn mentioned that a few months after "Patterns" premiered, he himself had appeared in a US Steel Hour episode which Serling had also written titled "The Rack." The mother is on youtube! (Yeah, I know but I've been wanting to see the show - as opposed to the feature film - for about 16 years.)

For the curious, it's posted at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLxlUPNSyqE

Note the Poster/Channel.

Thanks so much for posting! While I was looking at it, I noticed on my "up next" list was the "Two Worlds of Charlie Gordon." https://youtu.be/0DfrzQ2Z8vY. I was blown away since I didn't even know a TV version of "Flowers for Algernon" existed. Oddly, the TV version was less sad than the movie.

Well, I know what I'll be watching in a few minutes, Jennie - thanks. :)

As for the sadness thing, maybe they figured regular viewers of As The World Turns, The Guiding Light and Portia Faces Life had seen enough sadness for the moment so they brightened things just a little.
