Boulders

This is a small and silly point, but every once in a while on Laramie someone will be using a boulder for protection and put his hand on it, and the thing will rock a little.
These stones are supposed to weigh hundreds of pounds. Always chuckle when I see that.

I'm not a woman much less Deanna Durbin but the old-time glam-shot appeals to me.

Actually, a granite boulder big enough for a man to crouch behind, say about three feet high and three feet across, would weigh approximately two tons.

They also often hide behind wooden planks during gunfights, which would give no protection from the .45 caliber bullets traveling at over 1,000 feet per second from their Colt revolvers.

We are called upon to suspend our disbelief.
