The only thing I liked about Mae

Was her laugh. I sometimes catch myself doing her laugh. Kinda like a high pitched rebel bird yell.

At least there will be plenty implied.

The woman who played her has got to be the ugliest woman I've ever seen. I kept thinking she didn't even look human-more like an alien. Truly hideous. I can't imagine she was like that in real life.

Sister Woman (May) was one of the most irritating women I have ever encountered. Her and those ill mannered kids. I do not often dislike characters, but I sure did her. She did a great job acting, I know. That is quite a gift and she should have been recognized for acting actually.

Madeline Sherwood was a very versatile actress who could play likable characters, annoying characters, stern and authoritative characters. If you see her in the film version of another Tennessee Williams play ("Sweet Bird of Youth"), you will barely realize that it's sister woman. As Reverend Mother on "The Flying Nun", she's very stern at the beginning of the series, but as she gets used to Sister Bertrille, she lightens up towards her and is more quietly amused than outwardly annoyed.

"Great theater makes you smile. Outstanding theater may make you weep."

What Gooper was thinking when he asked her to marry him is beyond me!
