Philippe Clay=Jacques Brel?

When I first heard the singer at the Zodiac, he reminded me of Jacques Brel; of course, he doesn't look like Brel. But I wondered if he was supposed to represent Brel. I'd never heard of Philippe Clay, but he has about a hundred credits here at the IMDb, over five or six decades.

He was slim like Brel, but Brel wasn't into beatnik stuff at all. And his energy on the stage was very different, not "mimey" at all, with a lot of power and drama.
