Over Sanitized to the Point Where NOTHING makes Sense

I recently read the book and FINALLY get it.

Why was Mike such a DICK to Cohn? Well because Chon was the guy who banged Brett in San Sebastian. And he was also the creep who kept following them around because he couldn't get enough of her hoo ha. While watching the movie a few months ago (for the first time) I asked, "why is Mike such a bastard for no reason?" they make it very awkward.

Why was Brett NOT going with Jake who she obviously loved? Because his DICK DIDN'T WORK! AH HA! Why was this movie made in 1957 if they were going to treat it like a children's play? The book was pretty good (and I HATE Hemingway's work) and actually makes sense, this movie does not.

You didn't have to read the book to know his dick didn't work. In the film the doctor flatly says that he will be impotent because of his injury. In fact it's MORE clear in the movie that he is impotent than it is in the book.

Considering his image as a ladies man, and getting his wives pregnant not long after marriage, I bet Ty really had to use his imagination and acting skills to play an impotent man. LOL!

The movie makes all those points quite clear. You need to pay some attention. It is not a 2010 film for morons.

Weell, us moe-rons here in the 21st cen-two-ree done done likes ours moe-ronic movies.

Why is it that when a person dislike a crap movie like this, there's some loser who has made his/her life revolve around said movie, comes on the scene to tell us all who didn't like it that we're just dumb and didn't get it.

I don't recall the doctor's visit, I'll re-watch it just for that. THe book was very subtle about his importance in the beginning and I got it, so your "you just didn't get it because you're dumb" bit isn't going to fly. I'm sorry I have a life and don't spend hours re watching a crap movie.
