Broadway musical

I thought that I read somewhere that at one time Josh Logan and James Michner were working on a Broadway musical version of "Sayonara." I think they were hoping the musical would be along the same lines as "South Pacific." Does anyone know anything about such a collaboration. Just wonderin'
