My Memories of this Movie

My parents took me to see this movie for my 10th birthday. As the oldest of the siblings, I felt so grownup to be taken to a real movie (as opposed to a kids' movie) and none of the other kids were included... just me and my folks! A real treat. One that was rarely repeated. I have always had a fondness for this movie as a result.

reindeer trout, I'm reading this long after your original post, but thought I'd comment anyway.

I saw this with my parents when it was first released, so that would make us the same age seeing it (10years old).

My parents took me to see many of the movies of the time....back then even the "grown up movies" didn't have too much of an objectionable nature, so it made it easier for parents to bring the kids, I guess.

Anyway, going to the movies with my parents make up some of my nicest memories.

In the 1950s my parents sometimes took me to the movies with them. We would almost always arrive late, then stay for the next showing until we got to the point in the movie where we had come in. We always sat in the balcony so they could smoke. It was a different world.
