Masterpiece

Minimalist film design but well directed, taut and suspenseful from start to end. A prisoner plans an escape from a WW2 prison. It’s based on a memoir.

Bresson had a idiosyncratic style. After watching one of his films, seeing a typical Hollywood action film of today feels so strange and over-the-top.

I personally enjoy older films, as they really show the mastery of the filmmakers, rather than numbing our sensations with loud explosions and dizzy CGI effects and one action sequence after another.
