One of my favorite films

It was a staggering film for the 50s. Some complain about the age difference between Wagner and Tracy but in calendar years it wasn't that much. If his mother had Tracy at 18 and Wagner at just 40 it would make sense. At the turn of the last century it was normal to have a first child at 15 or 16 so it's hardly out of line. Tracy aged fast which also helps because it was a physically demanding role which he seemed to handle well. Black Narcissus is still the most beautiful film I've ever seen but The Mountain is in the running for runner up. If you love older films it's a perfect film for you but if you prefer cutting edge with lots of CG and stunts it's a poor choice. It's a character piece with beautiful scenery. Up until K2 it was the scariest mountain climbing film made. Pretty good that it held the title for 40 years. Still freaks me out watching it and I know a lot of it are sets. If you are Tracy fan it's one of his best. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner will always be his best but this is fighting hard for second place.

I hope I can buy before I die.

Hopefully you realize Amazon has this movie.

"Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" is not Tracy's best film, or even his fiftieth-best.
