'Posing' a question

I found it interesting/annoying that the actors were often "posed" and frozen in place as emotional events took place. With this in mind, the ending is almost humorous...the daughter almost hit by truck, Bud thrown over the edge, and the father remains posed by the car, frozen there until the daughter comes to his side, touches his arm, and crawls in the car. A real sequence might include screams, running, throwing arms around each other, emotional reactions, etc. Another scene that was interesting/annoying included Gordon, the father, and the daughter, with the father right behind Gordon, both facing the same way. They stay frozen in place as the daughter discusses Bud with them. Funny.
