Love isn't a fairy tale.

That could easily be the moral of this story, and it's a good moral.

So many people think love is tame and convenient, that it's normal and natural to fall in love just when they're read to settle down and acquire kids and a mortgage, and if you don't you're living your life all wrong. But the truth is that real, genuine, passionate love isn't what people want it to be - as often as not it comes at the wrong time and leads you to the wrong person, it doesn't make your life stable and doesn't make you happy in the long run. Falling in love and establishing a comfortable and stable life are to totally different things, the Billys and Julies of the world would probably be better off if they'd never experienced love, yet they wouldn't trade it for anything.
