was judy a hooker?

In the early scene in the police station the "social worker" and judy were talking about why she was out so late and says something to the effect that was she was out looking for someone and did she do that because of her dad which seems to be a 50's vailed reference to her being a prostitute or a least a slut?

the more people I meet, the more I prefer the company of my cats

According to the DVD audio commentary, Judy was picked up because she was out on the streets late at night and the police assumed that she was soliciting prostitution (when, in fact, she was not a hooker). Studio censorship at the time stated that teenagers could not be portrayed as sexual in any manner, so the scene was edited down, making the reasons for her presence at the police station unclear.

They have to rule it out. Cops used to say, welcome to Hollywood now go home!
